Second Printing – Head Die II, Frame Die I

1855 (2 July) envelope from Umballa to London, headed ”Overland via Bombay & Southampton”, bearing ½a. Die II pair (outer frame-line touched), 1a. Die I (cut into) and 4a. vertical pair (good to large margins on three sides, upper stamp touched at left), all cancelled with diamond of dots, showing red crayon ”1/1”, red framed ”india paid” and London Paid arrival c.d.s. (21.8); the envelope with flap missing and some other lesser faults. One of the few covers known with the three different 1854 lithographed stamps. Photo
