First Printing – Head Die I, Frame Die I
A magnificent example, Head [1], Frame [12], both head and frame printed with a clear impression and fine, rich colour, cut-to-shape with good clear margins all round, the head centrally positioned, diamond of dots cancellation; small shallow thins mainly confined to outer margin. Probably the finest looking cut-to-shape example in existence. A true gem of the utmost rarity. Of the twenty-seven examples recorded, twenty-three are cut-to shape and of these six are in institutions. B.P.A. Certificate (1992). S.G. 18a, £140,000. Photo
