1886 (21 Feb.) envelope (with letter headed "Palace" ex the Burrows correspondence from Capt. Edward Burrows R.A. to his parents in Rochester, bearing India ½a. (9) each cancelled by poor to good strikes of "burmese field sub p.o./no 8" squared-circle d.s. and showing, on reverse, Bombay (27.2) and arrival datestamps. The long and interesting letter reports that his battery is ordered back to India, mentions that the Viceroy's speech regarding the annexation of Upper Burma has been well received by the Burmese and the local government has been dissolved and the British troops are to be rewarded.
