1900 (20 Mar.) stampless envelope from Trooper Frye "D" company at Bloemfontein to Que, marked "No Stamps On Active Service South Africa" bearing a fine strike of the Canadian Contingent dated oval in pink (type II) and Field Post Office B.O. c.d.s., the reverse with faint Sherbrooke arrival c.d.s. (16.4). Fine and an early date for the oval datestamp which was introduced on 13th March. Photo
