1914-15 on German New Guinea, 6mm. setting, 1s. on 1m. carmine showing variety large "S" [Setting 1, Position 4], centred slightly to upper left, very lightly cancelled at lower right leaving clear the variety. Minor peripheral ageing and rounded lower left corner not disturbing from the overall appearance. Very rare, only four examples recorded by Gibbs of which two are used. B.P.A. Certificate (1998).
