1846 De La Rue security wrapper essay with blind embossed "801/aug 22nd/1846/registered/de la rue & co." and blue ribbon tie threaded through envelope. Fine and rare.

Notes: An abstract from a letter dated 20 July 1964, penned by G.L. Newman, an archivist at De La Rue, notes "A search of the Patent Office under 'Patents, Trade Marks & Designs' has met with no success. It has been suggested that the number '801' is a Post Office coding. This is a specimen of Thomas de la Rue's work which is entirely new to us..."
