1854 (23 June) small envelope to Sir John Bowring, Hong Kong (the Governor of Hong Kong) "Via Marseilles" bearing 10d. brown, die 2 (margins just touching to large) with 1/- green, die 2 (margins large to very large) cancelled by London numeral, the reverse with Charing Cross despatch and faint Hong Kong arrival (8.8). The 1/- stamp has been lifted and replaced. A highly desirable cover with this stunning franking. B.P.A. Certificate (1992)
