MC, large margins all round and showing traces of two adjoining stamps, tied by black Maltese Cross and additionally tied by red Sea Houses/Penny Post to entire letter from Eastbourne addressed to a Ship Builder in Rye, dated markings of April 4 and 5 1841 on the reverse; the entire a little discoloured at places but extremely rare with the Penny Post marking cancelling the stamp
