A Rare Registered Letter from Aberdeen

QB, close to large margins all round, tied by Ruby Maltese Cross of Aberdeen to 1841 (1 Feb.) entire letter from Aberdeen to Kettering, endorsed "Registered Letter", charged "1/-" and struck with boxed "paid at/aberdeen" and Edinburgh "paid" 02.02.41 transit marking, the reverse with 01.02.41 boxed Aberdeen d.s. Registered 1d. black covers are of great rarity, and believed unique in combination with the rare ruby Maltese Cross of Aberdeen. Karl Louis Certificate (1999) and R.P.S. Certificate (1998).

Noted in "The Encyclopaedia of The Maltese Cross", Vol. III, Pg. 407. One of only eleven recorded here for the year of 1841, and noted here as being "one of 10 such 1d. black usages recorded by Karl Louis in 1999".
