FE, close to large margins, tied by red Maltese Cross to 1840 (29 May) entire letter from London to Cambridge, the face with "Pall Mall" and "Too Late" handstamps, the reverse with London and Cambridge d.s.; also QD, clear, balanced margins all round, tied by red Maltese Cross to 1840 (24 July) entire letter from Gannow to Townley Hall, Burnley, the face with Burnley d.s. Both with strong to light plate wear, the former with some minor imperfections, the latter very fine.
