The following seven lots comprise Cape of Good Hope reply post cards sent by H. van Oordt von Lauwenrècht when Consul General for the Netherlands in Cpae Town during the years 1911 and 1912. He wrote to all postmasters in Southern Africa:
"As I am collecting the postmarks of all post offices in South Africa for my private musuem, containing anything connected with the postal, telegraphic and telephonic communications in Africa you will oblige me very much by returning to me the annexed reply card. When obliterationg it please take care the impression of your date stamp is as clear as possible"
The history of this unique group of cards was first published in The Philatelist in June and July 1977
