1906-1919 collection of cancellations and covers, including Kismayo hatched circle datestamps on KE adhesives (4) and double-ring datestamps on KE adhesives (6) and KGV adhesives (12), Yonte double-ring d.s. on KGV 1a.; also 1916 censored cover (ragged edges) from Kismayu to Karachi, 1916 OHMS cover from Mombasa to Kismayu (backstamped on arrival), 1916 cover from Yonte to Jubaland with Passed by Censor Kismayu cachet, 1919 cover bearing 6c. and 4c. on 6c. provisional from Kismayu to England sent by J.O.W. Hope, District Commissioner in Jubaland. A scarce lot
Note: Jubaland, the hinterland of Kismayu, was promised to Italy in 1915 by secret treaty in return for joining the Allies, though the transfer was not signed till 1924 and implemented in 1925.
