After much consideration we decided that we would postpone climbing the mountain until we had more time..."; a 1953 air letter from A. Gregory before the assent and includes, "...Everest looks good. The north face is amazingly free of snow... " and bears a light strike of the boxed "british mount everest/expedition 1953/camp" struck in mauve plus India first day cover commemoration the conquest of Everest. (3 items)
