1848 (c.) letter to the King of Nepal from the Druk Dhesi closing with a fine strike of the 26mm circular seal with two lines of script, struck in red; the translation reads, "Having kept this golden friendship that has been cherished throughout the successive kings of Bhutan and as well as through my generation, you had been extremely generous to my beloved mother while she was on a pilgrimage to Nepal for which I am grateful to you. My intentional forthcoming visit had to be cancelled due to the death of the late King. However, I hope that your Majesty will kindly give your support to this small nation as usual if any foreign invasion or suppression exists. ...". Photo
