POSVI DEVM • AD-IVTORE-M • MEVM, square-topped shield over long cross fourchée, 15-61 above shield, edge plain, 2.97g, 6h, m.m. star (Borden & Brown 21 [O2/R2]; North 2024; S.2593), surfaces prepared for gilding with resultant traces of flashing, otherwise struck details bolder than very fine, an immensely popular series of England's first milled currency
