Edward I, in the name of Henry III (1272-1307), Voided Long Cross Issues, Class VI, Penny, c. 1272-1278, Bury St Edmund's, Ion, crowned bust facing, rev. ION ON SEInTED, voided long cross, trio of pellets in angles, 1.524g, 2h (North 1001; S.1377), with distinctive Colchester Hoard tone, some peripheral striking softness, otherwise a pleasing very fine, one of the better examples of the 1,716 die-linked examples to be recovered from the trove
