Ireland, Henry VII (1485-1509), "Three Crowns" Coinage, Early Issues, Groats, c. 1485-1487, Dublin (2), REX A[NGL] [FRAN][CI]E, Royal shield over long cross bottonée, rev. ET [hYBE]RNIE, three crowns in pale on cross over long cross with trefoil of pellets at ends, 1.59g, 2h (DF 183; S.6416), on an elliptical planchet, clipped and with weakness to peripheries, toned, a bolder fine; another, similar, REX ANGL [FRA]NCIE [quatrefoil], as before, rev. [E]T REX * h[YBER]NIE, as before, 1.66g, 5h (Aquilla Smith 77; S.6416), clipped and with a light grey tone, however adopting a title for Henry VII 50 years premature in the story of the Kingdom of Ireland!, very rare thus (2)
