Provenance

The John Noel Simpson Collection of English, Irish and Hiberno-Norse Coins

The other possibility for the mysterious 'hBERRE' reading is FRANC. As such, English and French titles are known otherwise on Dublin Groats of Edward IV only for some Suns & Roses of 1479-1483. The ornate I punch on reverse apparently common with that of the Suns & Roses Coinage of Drogheda (1483) and the Cross-on-Rose coinage (debated, but by new punch evidence 1479-83) arguing for a late date 1478-1483.
