Hiberno-Norse, temp. Domnall mac Taidc (c. 1110-1115), Phase VII, Semi-Bracteate Penny, 'Wexford' Type, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, degraded draped bust left, annulet to neck, rev. plain cross and cross botonnée, 0.79g (SCBI 8 [British Museum], 253; SCBI 32 [Ulster Museum], 398; O'Sullivan 66; DF 33; S.6192), on a complete round flan, crimped and weakly struck as usual for type, otherwise of excellent fabric, extremely rare thus and one of the best examples to surface at worldwide public auction for decades
