Hiberno-Norse (c. 1060-1065), Phase IV, Penny, 'Scratched Die' Type, Dublin, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, stylised legend, crude draped bust right, symbols before face and to neck, rev. stylised legend, 'scratched' voided long cross, crude stylised hand and pellet-tipped crosses in quarters, 0.59g (SCBI 32 [Ulster Museum], 302; S.6135), weakly struck to peripheries, otherwise struck details very fine, an extremely rare variant with the right facing portrait

One of only three right facing examples listed within the Ulster Museum collection (SCBI 32, 301-303). A further two are listed within the Hiberno Norse collection housed at the British Museum, both of which do not show a cross in either quarter.
