Hiberno-Norse (c. 1035-1060), Phase III, Penny, 'Three Finger' Type, Dublin, in the style of an Æthelred II Long Cross Penny, stylised legend, draped bust left, rev. stylised legend, voided long cross, stylised hand in second and third quarters, first hand with "three fingers", 0.99g, 6h (SCBI 8 [British Museum] 115 same obverse die; DF 24; S.6132), struck on a defective planchet with crimping fore and aft of portrait, otherwise richly cabinet toned, approaching very fine, a scarce and interesting variety
