Mixed Lots
1856–1979 Collection in a leather album with over 160 well-filled pages containing 2,000–3,000 stamps, mostly used, including some souvenir sheets and covers. Early issues show a range of district overprints (1856–1879), with highlights such as 1856 Tampico (Scott 3b, unused, $250), Victoria (Scott 3, 3b, used; NF $125), 1861 Zacatecas quadrisect on attractive cover (Scott 11b, $250), 1866 Eagle 3c. with full margins (Scott 18, $1,300), and an 1868 front with a superb blue cancel from Carro. Revolutionary issues are well represented, with the usual mix of genuine and forged overprints; among them a 5c. Carranza with “Corbata” overprint (Scott 539, $400) appears genuine. Also noted a 5p Pro-Universidad airmail, unused (Scott C59, $225), and some back-of-the-book issues., , ,
