1872 "Hidalgos"
Ciudad Bravos/ Tixtla, Jalapa Group of 41 used and unused imperforate stamps, neatly mounted on presentation pages (consignments #11 and 20), with different consignment years 1872–74, each in a row, with no duplication. Ciudad Bravos contains the majority of the unused stamps, including a splendid 6c. strip of four overprinted "C. Bravos". The group includes denominations from 6c. to 100c., as well as five stamps with the "Papel Sellado" or "La Croix Frères" watermark. Cancels include Perote, Jicaltepec, Jalapa, Tesiutlán, Altotonga, Papantla, and Yguala. Additionally, there is the Jalapa consignment error "30-73" for "20-73". The stamps are in very fine condition overall, many with three or four clear margins. Scott # 81-83, 83b, 93-96, 98; NF and Scott (for watermarked stamps) is $1,858 for stamps off cover., ,
