1854 (4 Oct.) envelope from Hooghly to Essex, marked "via Southampton" bearing Die I, close to large margins all round, tied by diamond of dots, the face with framed "india" in red and Epping arrival c.d.s. (24.11) in green with despatch and London datestamps on reverse; the envelope with some stains. A rare date, just four days after issue and prior to the issue of the 4a. R.P.S. Certificate (2023).
