1852 (1 Sep.) entire letter from Mahaica addressed to Georgetown, marked P Inland Mail, bearing 4c. black on deep blue, Type I, diagonally cut into at left, tied by Demerara double-arc d.s. for Sep. 3 1852 with a second strike of the d.s. on the reverse. The stamp is defective and has been removed and replaced, and the cover has been cleaned, still a very rare usage on cover, as fewer than ten covers are recorded bearing this stamp. B.P.A.
