1846-49 wrapper duo addressed to London each charged "1/2" and showing the handstamp (Proud A2) on the front, the reverse with despatch (Proud Type D2) and arrival d.s. The 1846 (2.11) being the earliest known date for the "1/2" handstamp. Mixed condition, a scarce duo.

Notes:
While the rate from Demerara to the United Kingdom was 1/-, the rate from Berbice was 2d. extra. To denote that, this handstamp was supplied, though apparently very seldom used, Proud records from (2.11.46) to (4.7.48) .
