1845-58 selection of entires (4) addressed to England (3) or Scotland variously charged and each showing on reverse, Townsend Type 9 handstamp, demerara in 3mm san-serif capitals and two arcs at foot; 1847 (4 Oct.) applied in red and showing inverted day '4', 1847 (3 Aug.) in black with 'O' at bottom earliest recorded date for this type, 1848 (6 May) and 1858 (7 Sep.) in black with 1858 being latest recorded date. Usual mixed condition, a tremendous lot for the student of the subject.
