1888 (10 Nov.) envelope to Cape Town (large portion of reverse missing) bearing 1888 "Protectorate" 6d. tied by "678" barred oval with a fine strike of "gubulawayo" c.d.s. (Proud D1 state 2) with Mafeking transit (4.12) alongside with part Rosebank arrival on the reverse; some soiling but the earliest recorded date of use of the amended c.d.s. with "bechuanaland" removed from the bottom of the postmark.
