1886 De la Rue appendix sheet headed "Scheme showing the manner in which contrast in colour could be obtained in printing the proposed British Bechuanaland Postage and Revenue Stamps" bearing fifteen Ceylon 15c. perforated colour trials, each with suggested denomination alongside with values from 1d. to £20; together with hand-painted essay in purple and Chinese white on buff tracing paper marked "A" and dated "DEC 7th 86." with the suggested value tablet painted in the appropriate colours with a pencil frame around each.
