1885 (10 May) soldiers' concessionary rate envelope marked "On Active Service" from Corporal Langton and addressed to London, bears Cape 1d. tied by a good strike of Barkly West c.d.s. with a second strike alongside, countersigned by the "Officer comdg B troop 2 M.R." and bearing, on the reverse, Cape Town (13.5) and London (3.6) c.d.s.
