The Times of 3 September 1846 reported 'This morning at 45 minutes past 7 o'clock Her Majesty, Prince Albert, the Royal Family and their respective suites embarked on board the Royal yacht Victoria and Albert Captain Lord Adolphus Fitzclarence, at Osborne Pier'. On the following day The Times reported, 'H.M. and Prince Albert made a progress through the loyal town of St Helier and on through the country some few miles to the town of St Orgueil, accompanied by the Lord Chamberlain Earl Spencer, Viscount Palmerston and the Royal Suite'
