PCGS PR58 | Victoria (1837-1901), Pattern Proof 'Gothic' Crown, MDCCCXLVII [1847] UNDECIMO, by William Wyon and William Dyce, crowned 'Gothic' bust left, W.W. below truncation, rev. crowned shields cruciform, national emblems in angles, downwards lettered edge, 28.28g*, 6h (ESC 2571; Bull 288; S.3883), light cabinet friction in quite brilliant and peripherally toned fields, with appealing cabinet tone to peripheries, an imperiously bold and uniform technical striking of this vaunted Wyon masterpiece with a reported mintage of only 8,000 pieces, a most covetable extremely fine, in PCGS holder, graded PR58 (Cert. #55968333)
