REX, trefoil stops, crowned and bearded King enthroned, holding orb and sceptre, Tudor rose below feet, rev. (m.m.) IhS : AVTE : TRANSIE : PERMEDI : ILLOR : IBAT, double trefoil stops, crowned shield supported by lion to left and dragon to right, 6.19g [95.52grns], 7h, m.m. S (Schneider I, 621; Whitton II(b)(a) 2/3; North 1828; S.2296), typical softness of strike, otherwise a pleasingly wholesome example, with faint orange cabinet tone in original and lustrous fields, struck very fine or near so, scarce in any grade, truly rare this wholesome and presentable, in PCGS holder, graded AU53 (Cert. #55968323)
