AQT, double saltire stops, French title omitted, King standing in ship, holding sword and shield, slipped trefoil over sail, castles crenelated, ropes 3/1 {twisted}, ornaments 1-1-1-1, quatrefoils 4/4, rev. (m.m.) IhC : AVTEM : TRANSIENS : PER : MEDIV : ILLORV .' IBAT, double saltire stops, floriate cross, crowned leopards in angles, large R at centre, trefoils in spandrels, 7.75g [119.60grns], 12h, i.m. cross pattée (Schneider I, 150 same dies; Isladulcie -; North 1304; S.1655), staining to obverse and reverse legend at 7 o'clock, with some striking softness to devices on a lightly clipped flan, otherwise largely uniform and even for strike, very fine, and helpfully accentuated by underlying mint lustre
