George I (1714-1727), 'Roses and Plumes' Shillings (2), 1721 over 0, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, eight strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 6.01g, 6h (ESC 1171; Bull 1577; S.3645), metal flaw behind head and with graffiti scratched to obverse field, vibrant blue tone, about very fine; another, 1722, similar, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, roses and plumes in angles, six strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.96g, 6h (Pywell-Phillips 274; Bull 1581; ESC 1174; S.3645), wiped and scratched to reverse, yet with toning and lustre to peripheries, very fine; lastly, 'South Sea Company' Shilling, 1723, SSC, second laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. four crowned shields cruciform, SS C angles, seven strings to harp, colon between A TH, edge obliquely milled, 5.99g, 6h (ESC 1178; Bull 1591; S.3647), evidence of previous mounting and smoothing in fields, otherwise toned, very fine (3)
