L | III., three-quarter length figure of queen in centre of ship to right, high fore and stern castles, the queen crowned, standing to front, holding sword and supporting royal shield, a rose on ship’s side and flag with M at stern, A : DNO .' FACTV .' EST : ISTVD . Z . EST . MIRABI '. IN : OCVL '. nRI '., annular stops, ornamental cross with radiate rose in centre; between arches of octafoil panel crowned lion or lys, alternately, 7.017g [108.3grns], 6h, m.m. pomegranate (North 1957, Pl. V, 57 same dies; S.2489), a small scratch in reverse second quarter and slightly short of flan, otherwise a rich buttery-yellow gold fabric and handsomely uniform for strike, a most pleasingly wholesome and bolder very fine, of the highest rarity, only TEN examples traced, this with a supreme pedigree, in NGC Black 'Carrington' holder, graded Almost Uncirculated (Cert. #8534361-010)
