SCVTVM : FIDEI : PROTEGET : EVM :, youthful bare head and cuirassed bust right, double lozenge stops, 2.656g [41.0grns], 2h, m.m. -/arrow (HCN 48; Potter 1(b); Montagu II, 796 same dies; Lord Hastings = Hilton-Price 113 = Moon = Bruun 600 = Drabble 142 same dies; Ryan 240 this coin; Lockett 1863 same dies; Schneider I, 676 same dies; North 1913; S.2441), unfortunate scratches before portrait and typical softness to devices where dies clash, otherwise on a neat round flan, with pleasing hues of natural lustre and light tone in recesses, strictly very fine, but the portrait of the 'Boy King' delightfully better still, very rare thus, in NGC Black 'Carrington' holder, graded Almost Uncirculated (Cert. #8536700-002)
