(m.m.) : RVTILAnS : ROSA : SInE : SPInA :, Lombardic lettering, double saltire stops, crowned Tudor Rose dividing h-I, 1.798g [27.747grns], 8h, m.m. arrow (Norweb 902 this coin; Lockett 4346; Whitton IV, 2; Schneider I, 606; North 1795; S.2287), a small scratch in obverse right field, and of a paler gold fabric that is slightly short of flan, otherwise superbly uniform for strike, extremely fine or very near so and truly rare in this exemplary condition, in 1994 as few as seven examples of this type were known, in NGC Black 'Carrington' holder, graded MS62 (Cert. #8534367-012) [*Single Finest Certified*]
