(x) NGC MS63 | Anglo-Gallic, Edward the Black Prince (1362-1372), Hardi d'Or, + ED * PO * GnS * REGIS * AnGLIE * PnS * AQVITA, half-length robed figure of Prince, pointing finger and holding upright sword, flowers in hair, within tressure of 16 arcs, legend and beaded border surrounding with cinquefoil stops, rev. + AVXILIVm * mEVm * A * DOMInO * R, voided quatrefoil at centre of cross quernée, lis and lion in angles, all within tressure of 16 arcs, legend and beaded border surrounding, 3.990g [61.57grns], 5h, i.m. cross pattée (Schneider III, 66; Elias 164; Beresford-Jones 272/278; Fb. 347), some minor ghosting in obverse field, otherwise a supreme specimen, gloriously struck up and handsomely cabinet toned and lustrous, better than extremely fine and truly much as struck, a wondrous Medieval Gold rarity, in NGC Black 'Carrington' holder, graded MS63 (Cert. #8534362-018)
