(x) NGC AU58 | Henry IV (1399-1413), Light Coinage, Noble, current 12 April 1412 - 1413, Type V, Tower (London), hEN | RIC x DI 'x GRA 'x REX 'x AnGL 'x Z x FRAnC 'x DnS : hIB 'x Z 'x A-C, King standing in ship, holding broad sword and Lancastrian shield, trefoil and annulet on side of ship, ropes 3/1, ornaments 1-11-1, quatrefoils 3/4, rev. + IhC : AVTEM : TRANSIEnS : PER : MEDIVM : ILLORV : IBAT, double saltire stops, floriate cross, crowned leopards in angles, large h and pellet, additional trefoil in first quarter, 6.935g [107.04gns], 4h, i.m. cross pattée (Raynes 27 same obverse die; Fishpool 6ff; Schneider I, 209 same dies; North 1355; S.1715), struck from lightly rusted obverse die, and clipped as usual for series, otherwise sumptuously cabinet golden-orange toned with much underlying lustre, a most pleasing very fine, very rare, particularly so this honest and wholesome, in NGC Black 'Carrington' holder, graded AU58 (Cert. #8534369-006)
