(x) NGC MS62 | George I (1714-1727), Quarter-Guinea, 1718, laureate head right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, emblem-adorned sceptres in angles, five strings to harp, edge obliquely milled, 2.074g, 6h (MCE 277; Schneider II, 554; EGC I, 550; S.3638), small mark before eye and a trace of flecking to lustrous, original fields, almost extremely fine, and a thoroughly pleasing example of this popular diminutive issue struck in answer to the great national silver shortage, in NGC Black 'Pallas' holder, graded MS62 (Cert. #8534314-003)
