(x) NGC AU | William and Mary (1688-1694), 'Royal African Company', Five-Guineas, 1691 TERTIO, Elephant and Castle, conjoined laureate busts right, E&C below, rev. crowned and garnished shield, 41.689g [643.36grns], 6h (King - [cf. 124-125 for date]; MCE 137; EGC I, 345; GH 48; S.3423), a minor rim bruise at 11 o'clock, and the fields lightly wiped but with much residual lustre, an attractive and really bold very fine, the variety unrepresented in the famous Samuel King collection, scarce thus, in NGC Black 'Pallas' holder, graded Almost Uncirculated (Cert. #8534311-010)
