REGINA • (m.m.) •, Queen seated on ornamented throne with lattice work and pellet in annulet backing, holding orb and sceptre, flanked by pillars, Portcullis below atop ornate tressure through which it and only her crown breaks, rev. (m.m.) A • DNO '• FACTV .' EST • ISTVDET • EST • MIRAB •' INOCVLISNRS •', shield of arms at centre of full-blown rose, 15.18g [234.34grns], 4h, m.m. escallop (S.2529; N.2003; B&C. bust A18A), lightly cleaned and with bagmarking, softness through the central devices, otherwise on a pleasingly full flan, about very fine, the back of the throne is decorated with pellets in annulets - a hitherto unpublished variety
