(x) Banque de Syrie et du Liban, Syria, 25 Livres, Damas, 1st September 1939, serial number M/S 058929, red brown on multicolour underprint, pilgrims with camel caravan at mausoleum of Zenab in Damascus at centre, value at each corner, SYRIE in top margin, Maurice Berard and Alexis Julien Laferriere signatures. Back in green hues, Arabic and French text, water well with dome in Baakline, Lebanon, two green chevrons overprints on obverse and reverse, well at centre flanked by value.
