Roman Republic, Octavian, as sole Imperator (30-27 BC), AR Denarius, Rome, struck c. Autumn 30-Summer 29 BC, bare head right, rev. Ithyphallic boundary-stone of Jupiter Terminus, surmounted by laureate head of Octavian facing, winged thunderbolt below, IMP-CAESAR across fields, 3.67g (RIC 269a; RSC 114; CRI 425), inscription smoothed to reverse, still with lovely tone and a bold portrait, good very fine
