(x) AN IMPORTANT DISCOVERY COIN FOR THE LINCOLN MINT | Æthelræd II 'Unræd' (978-1016), 'Second Hand' Type, Penny, 985-991, Lincoln, Ubeinn (Unbein), + ÆÐELRÆD [RE]X ANGLORX, diademed bust right with three horizontal folds to drapery, in front sceptre with trefoil head within inner circle, rev. + VMBENG M-O L[IN]COL, Hand of Providence (Manus Dei) with curve at each side of sleeve issuing from clouds, at either side, alpha and omega with contraction bar above, large pellet below each, within solid inner circle, 1.28g [19.75grns], 9h (Hildebrand B2; SCBI -; North 768; BMC IId; S.1146), chipped to inner circle between 6 and 7 o'clock, the flan otherwise crinkled and heavily peck-marked to face, neverthless struck details very fine, the only known 'true' Second Hand coin of the Lincoln Mint, previously only documented as a mule, UNIQUE and an important discovery piece and an essential addition to any specialist collector
