George III (1760-1820), 'New Coinage' Halfcrown, 1817, Type 1, large laureate 'Bull head' right, rev. crowned shield within Garter, edge milled, 14.17g, 12h (ESC 616; Bull 2090; Spink 3788), minor friction marking, otherwise with a pleasing lustre, flashy to the reverse and light ochre toning to the peripheries, good extremely fine; Halfcrown, 1817, Type 2, small laureate head right, rev. crowned shield in Garter, edge milled, 14.13g, 12h (ESC 618; Bull 2096; Spink 3789), cleaned and with some friction marking, nevertheless pleasing to the hair, bold very fine (2)
