Moore, crowned and draped conjoined busts right, rev. GOD SAVE THE KING within Garter, lion and unicorn supporters holding a shield which divides E-R above plain edge, 38mm, 19.99g, (BHM 3797), small bruising to rims, wear to higher areas of devices, otherwise dark toning and some lustre to the obverse, very fine; another, AE Medal, 1902, by John Pinches Ltd, crowned and draped conjoined busts right, rev. iii) The Duchy of Lancaster was formed by Henry III for his son Edmund, whom he created first Earl of Lancaster in 1267. It forms a separate portion of royal inheritance and derives considerable income from its large estates, mainly in the north of England.
ix) The second medal is unsigned but the specimen in the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery is attributed to them by Messrs Vaughton but on what basis is unknown.
