Lady Mildred Arabella Charlotte Henrietta Beresford-Hope (née Gascoyne-Cecil) (1822-1881) was a leading figure in London society for many years. She was born in 1822 to James Gascoyne-Cecil, 2nd Marquess of Salisbury. In 1842 she married Sir Alexander James Beresford Beresford Hope, a conservative MP and writer on archaeology and architecture, as well as ecclesiastical and artistic subjects. Further, he was President of the Royal Institute of British Architects from 1865 to 1867 and a trustee of the British Museum.
