Kimmerian Bosphorus, Pantikapaion (2): i) AE, c. 325-310 BC, bearded head of satyr right, rev. PAN, forepart of griffin left, sturgeon left below, 7.09g (SNG Stancomb 542; MacDonald 69; SNG BM Black Sea 869-71; HGC 7, 113), well-struck light porosity to top of reverse, but otherwise very fine; ii) another, struck c. 265-245 BC, wreathed head of Pan left, c/m twelve-rayed star, rev. PAN, head of lion left, sturgeon left below, c/m bow in bowcase, 8.24g (MacDonald 70; Anohin 133; SNG BM Black Sea 883; SNG Copenhagen 37; cf. Agora 10, lot 21, for countermark placement), light patina, well struck and lustrous, good very fine or better; (2).
